1. What cookies are
Cookies are small values stored by a browser and returned to a website on later requests. They can be used for authentication, security, preferences, analytics, or other functions.
2. HVDNA session cookie
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Current security attributes |
|---|---|---|---|
HVDNA_TRANSLATESESSID |
Maintains the authenticated session, CSRF state, security lifecycle, and login continuity. | Strictly necessary session cookie | Secure; HttpOnly; SameSite=Lax; Path=/; host-only; non-persistent |
3. Optional advertising cookies
As of the effective date of this policy, HVDNA's advertising campaign reporting is implemented through server-side delivery and click events rather than a separate behavioral advertising cookie issued by HVDNA.
4. Cloudflare Turnstile
The login and registration security flow may use Cloudflare Turnstile. Cloudflare may use browser or device information and security-related storage as necessary to provide its challenge and abuse-prevention service.
5. Why the session cookie cannot be disabled
The HVDNA session cookie is required for sign-in, account security, CSRF protection, authenticated navigation, and service continuity. Disabling it prevents authenticated features from functioning correctly.
6. Browser controls
Most browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies. If you clear the HVDNA session cookie, you will normally need to sign in again.
7. Future optional cookies
If the service later introduces optional analytics, advertising, preference, or similar cookies, this policy and any required consent controls should be updated before those cookies are used.
